The roads were still slick this morning after the snow we told you about coming yesterday...came last night. The commute was still pretty sketchy as I took kids to school around 7:30. We all had slippery commutes this morning in the metro.The snow really did not start coming down until midnight in the Des Moines metro. The temperatures finally were cold enough and the dew point was high enough to give us bursts of snow in isolated areas.
The road pictures were at a stop sign in Clive last night. The tracks in the snow were left behind my car around 1 AM.
The fog and frost slowed traffic to a crawl...and the untreated lanes of roads had drivers skidding and sometimes crashing.
The highs today will quickly climb to the 30s and 40s. The rest of the week is still looking pretty quiet.
